Tervetuloa kylään uuteen teokseeni 16.9.2011.

Pahvinen tupa ja perunaton maa on tilaan sijoittuva teosprojekti, joka on osa Landing Points -näyttelyä.

16.9. 2011 teos on nähtävillä Backlight 11 festivaalin avajaisten yhteydessä klo 17 alkaen Taidekeskus Mältinrannan, Tampereen taidemuseon ja TR1 Taidehallin läheisyydessä.

"Teoksen lähtökohtana minulla oli kaupungeissa toimiva jatkuva muuttoliike, jossa asunnottomat ja muut tilan käyttäjät ottavat mittaa toisistaan. Helsingissä Kallion leipäjonossa pari kertaa viikossa seisovat ihmiset ärsyttävät paikallisia niin paljon, että Kallion asukkaat haluaisivat lopettaa ruuan jakelun köyhille.

Minun on vaikea ymmärtää sitä suvaitsemattomuuden määrää, jonka länsimainen rahan, statuksen ja yhteiskunnallisen aseman ympärillä pyörivä piirileikki on saanut aikaan. Meille kaikilla tulisi olla edes jonkinlainen tila, jossa voimme leikkiä kotia."

"The starting point for my work was the continuous migration happening in cities. Homeless people and other users of space are fighting for their right to be. In Helsinki, in the area called Kallio, there is a food bank where people are standing in a line a couple of times in a week waiting for food. This line of poor people is annoying the other inhabitants of Kallio so much that they would like to stop the food distribution to the poor altogether.

I find it difficult to understand the amount of intolerance that the giant play around money, status and social position has brought us in the Western countries. All of us should have even some kind of space where we could play house."

It matters less to a person where they are born than where they can live.
